Boardriding Maui Kanaha
| Tagline | BRM's second-generation all-round single-skin parawing, known for best-in-class packability and a kite-derived handling feel. |
| Notes | Packability and handling character are the two things riders consistently single out: the Kanaha 'turns into nothing' when stowed and is described as the easiest parawing to wad, stow, and redeploy. The feel is consistently described as nuanced and kite-like — sensitive to micro-inputs, quick-steering, and light-touch, reflecting Greg Drexler's kite design background rather than paraglider DNA. The wide wind range and top-end stability are well-supported; testers note it flies quietly even when pushed past visible deformation. Where it falls short: upwind VMG is described as 'very good but not quite top three' — the Ozone Pocket Rocket, Flysurfer POW, and F-One Frigate all edge it on raw upwind speed and angle. Low-end grunt is similarly below those competitors, with the lack of structure making it harder to pump onto foil in marginal wind. The ultra-compact bar is a split: valued for its unique hand placement going upwind, but riders with large hands or riding larger sizes report discomfort over extended sessions. |
